This circuit covers the art and architecture style of Pallavas and Cholas, once happened to be the great and powerful dynasties. They left their mark behind with the grand architecture and tales of their empires.
We begin this trail with the age of mighty Pallavas and traverse through the age of Cholas. It’s a span of 600 years.
Kanchipuram to Tanjavur, this trail will give you an experience of time travel for sure. In a single tour, we are going to witness some magnificent World Heritage Sites.

DETAILED ITINERARY
Board an afternoon flight to Chennai. Arrive at the Chennai airport and immediately leave for Mahabalipuram. Upon arrival, check in to the hotel. Freshen up and relax.
Stay at Mahabalipuram.
Chennai -Mahabalipuram (Distance: 56 Kms)
Get ready with the morning vibe of the eastern coast. After breakfast, we will visit some of the exquisite monuments of Mahabalipuram. We will spend the entire day understanding the legacy of the 1500-year-old Pallava dynasty.
Highlights
- Visit Shore temple at Mahabalipuram.
- Understand the evolution of architectural styles at Mahabalipuram.
Visit Gangavataran, Panchratha, KrishnaMandap, VarahMandap, Krishna’s butterball, and such magnificent monuments in the vicinity.
After breakfast, get ready to move on to the next destination.
We are heading to Kanchipuram - a temple city.
Upon arrival, freshen up and spend the day understanding various aspects of religion and temples. In the evening, take a stroll on the streets of Kanchipuram for shopping of the famous Kanchi Pattu.( Silk sarees).

Today, we have some travelling. Hence, have a tummy full of breakfast. After breakfast, check out of the hotel and leave for Kumbakonam. Hereafter, we will be witnessing grand temples constructed by another dynasty, the 'Cholas'. En route, visit one of the 'Three Great Living Chola temples', Gangaikondacholapuram.

Kanchipuram –Kumbakonam Distance:: 253 Kms

Today, we explore another temple from the list of 'Three Great Living Chola Temples', and that is Airavateshwar at Darasuram. In the morning, visit Airavateshwar and arrive back in Kumbakonam by noon. In the late afternoon, visit Tanjavur Maratha Palace and Saraswati Mahal Library. Return to the hotel and relax.

- If any sightseeing mentioned is not done due to any unforeseen circumstances then an alternate sightseeing will be done.

Travelers are requested to carry their luggage in accordance with the regulated baggage allowance. Excess baggage will be chargeable and the same is not included in the tour cost. It has to be borne by the traveler.
